NEET 2027 Registration Date: When Will NTA Open the Application Form?

The NEET 2027 registration date has not been announced yet. NTA opens registration on the same day it publishes the information bulletin, and in the last three cycles that happened in the first half of February. So the most likely window for NEET 2027 is February to early March 2027, with a chance of an earlier start if NTA moves the exam to computer-based testing.

Expected NEET 2027 Registration Date: What Past Years Show

These are the actual registration windows of recent cycles. They are the best guide to when the NEET 2027 registration date will fall.

CycleRegistration openedLast dateExam date
NEET 20236 March 2023Early April 20237 May 2023
NEET 20249 February 20249 March 2024 (extended to 16 March)5 May 2024
NEET 20257 February 20257 March 20254 May 2025
NEET 20268 February 202611 March 20263 May 2026
NEET 2027 (expected)Early to mid-February 2027Early March 2027Expected 2 May 2027

Two points stand out. Registration has opened in the first half of February for three years running. And the window has stayed open for about four weeks each time, sometimes with a short extension. Once it closes, it does not reopen; our guide on missing the NEET registration deadline explains what little you can do.

Could Registration Open Earlier This Time?

Yes, and the reason is the CBT question. The Centre told the Supreme Court in September 2026 that moving NEET to computer-based testing is still under consideration. A computer-based exam for over 20 lakh candidates would need several days, more centres and an earlier slot booking process, so NTA may want registration done sooner.

That is why we give December 2026 as the earliest realistic start. Until a decision is announced, plan for February but keep your documents ready by December. We track every development in the latest NEET 2027 CBT news, and confirmed updates go to our NEET 2027 latest updates page.

When Will the NTA NEET 2027 Notification Come?

The NTA NEET 2027 notification is the public notice that NEET UG 2027 registration has started. It comes with the information bulletin, which contains the official dates, fees, eligibility rules, exam cities and the syllabus link.

NTA’s exam calendar released in September 2026 listed other exams but not NEET UG, so the notification will come as a separate announcement. When it does, check three things in the bulletin first:

  1. The last date for registration and for fee payment (they can differ by a few hours)
  2. Any change in fees, documents or photo rules
  3. The exam mode and the number of exam days

Students appearing in Class 12 board exams in 2027 can apply. Students who are in Class 11 now will write NEET 2028, not NEET 2027.

A proposal for an age limit and an attempt cap has been discussed but not adopted, so repeaters can apply again; our 12-month dropper plan covers the preparation side. Category candidates should also check OBC-NCL certificate validity well in advance. The full rules, including NRI, OCI and foreign national cases, are in our NEET 2027 eligibility criteria guide.

NEET 2027 Application Fee

These were the fees for NEET 2026. The 2027 fees will be confirmed in the bulletin, but they have stayed the same for several years.

In recent cycles, NTA has set file-size limits for each upload: roughly 10–200 KB for photographs, 4–30 KB for the signature, 10–50 KB for the impressions and 50–300 KB for certificate PDFs. NEET 2026 also asked candidates to capture a live photograph during the form. Check the exact specifications in the 2027 bulletin, as they can change.

How to Fill the NEET 2027 Application Form: Step by Step

  1. Register. Go to neet.nta.nic.in, click the NEET UG 2027 registration link and create an account with your mobile number and email ID. Note down your application number and password.
  2. Fill personal details. Enter your name, parents’ names and date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 certificate.
  3. Fill academic details. Enter Class 10 details and your Class 12 status, board and subjects.
  4. Fill category and address details. Choose your category carefully, as it affects your fee and your counselling options later.
  5. Choose exam cities and medium. Pick your city preferences and the question paper language. Choose cities you can actually reach on exam day.
  6. Upload documents. Upload the photographs, signature, impressions and certificates in the required format and size.
  7. Pay the fee. Pay online and wait for the confirmation of payment.
  8. Download the confirmation page. Save the PDF and print at least two copies.

The form takes about an hour if your documents are ready. Do not leave it to the last two days, because the website slows down near the deadline.

Common Mistakes That Cause Trouble Later

  • Name or date of birth mismatch with the Class 10 certificate
  • Wrong category, or an outdated OBC-NCL or EWS certificate
  • Blurred photo or signature, or a photo with a cap or dark glasses
  • Using someone else’s mobile number or email, so that OTPs and updates are missed
  • Choosing exam cities without checking travel
  • Not downloading the confirmation page after payment

Most fields can be corrected in the correction window, but some, such as the mobile number and email ID, usually cannot. Check everything before you pay.

What If You Miss the NEET 2027 Registration Date?

NTA does not reopen registration once it closes, except for the short extension it sometimes announces. If you miss the deadline, you will have to wait for NEET 2028. The best protection is simple: register in the first week of the window.

What to Do Now, Before the NEET 2027 Registration Date

  1. Collect and scan every document listed above by December 2026.
  2. Get a fresh category certificate if yours is old, especially OBC-NCL and EWS.
  3. Check neet.nta.nic.in weekly from December, and ignore dates shared on social media.
  4. Keep studying. The registration date is an administrative step, not the start of your preparation.
  5. Practise previous year questions chapter by chapter, free:
