What they rarely explain is how. Solving full papers too early wastes them, and solving random questions teaches little. NTA draws them from a fixed syllabus, so the same concepts return every year in slightly different words.

When you solve ten years of questions from one chapter in a single sitting, three things become obvious:

Which topics repeat. In most chapters, three or four ideas produce most of the questions.

How deep NTA goes. You stop over-studying parts that are never asked.

Where you are weak. A cluster of wrong answers from one topic is a clearer signal than a low mock score.

Year-wise papers cannot show these patterns, because each paper has only one or two questions per chapter. They test stamina and timing instead, which matters later; our collection of previous year papers for NEET covers that side. Use the NEET 2027 chapter weightage breakdown to decide how much time each chapter deserves.

The Three-Pass Method

Pass

When

What you do

Goal

1. The marks come from the second, because that is where an error becomes a corrected habit. A simple notebook method to analyse your mock test errors works equally well for PYQ sets. Mocks come later, and our NEET mock test strategy explains where they fit.

Plan the passes into your calendar. Our NEET 2027 revision strategy shows how to space them so nothing is forgotten.

How Many Questions, and How Long?

A chapter usually has 20 to 60 past questions, depending on its weightage.
