Registration has opened in the first half of February for three years running. And the window has stayed open for about four weeks each time, sometimes with a short extension. Once it closes, it does not reopen; our guide on missing the NEET registration deadline explains what little you can do.

Could Registration Open Earlier This Time?

Yes, and the reason is the CBT question. The Centre told the Supreme Court in September 2026 that moving NEET to computer-based testing is still under consideration. A computer-based exam for over 20 lakh candidates would need several days, more centres and an earlier slot booking process, so NTA may want registration done sooner.

That is why we give December 2026 as the earliest realistic start. Until a decision is announced, plan for February but keep your documents ready by December. We track every development in the latest NEET 2027 CBT news, and confirmed updates go to our NEET 2027 latest updates page.

When Will the NTA NEET 2027 Notification Come?

The NTA NEET 2027 notification is the public notice that NEET UG 2027 registration has started.
